Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
About The Position
Cypress Ridge Care Center is committed to delivering compassionate, high‑quality care to our residents. Our rehabilitation team works collaboratively to help individuals regain independence, improve functional skills, and enhance quality of life. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our therapy department. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the OTA will assist in implementing therapeutic interventions designed to promote residents’ functional abilities, independence, and overall well‑being.
Requirements
- Current Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of California
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient‑care skills
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative care team
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Carry out individualized treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist
- Provide therapeutic activities to improve ADLs, functional mobility, strength, and coordination
- Document resident progress in accordance with center policies and regulatory requirements
- Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive techniques and home programs
- Assist with training in the use of adaptive equipment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident goals
- Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging therapy environment
