About The Position

Massachusetts General Hospital Occupational Therapy Department is seeking a full-time aide for the outpatient occupational therapy and physical therapy department located on the hospital’s main campus. This position provides an excellent learning experience for any person considering a career in either physical therapy or occupational therapy in a supportive environment. Although this position will be a shared responsibility across OT and PT the majority of the work will be in the OT department. In addition to working closely with an accomplished group of clinical staff to support patients receiving rehabilitative services, the position also includes administrative responsibilities that promote the efficient operation of our busy clinic. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, greeting and setting up of patients, aiding in patient care under the direct supervision of a therapist, ordering, and maintaining supplies, and maintaining the department infection control/ cleaning procedures. Our physical therapists see patients with a wide variety of disorders including musculoskeletal, neurological and cardio-pulmonary conditions. Our occupational therapists primarily treat patients with hand and upper extremity injuries, pediatric patients, as well as neurological and oncology patients. A strong candidate would have good communication skills, be well organized, have the ability to multi-task, and demonstrate initiative and curiosity. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • High school graduate or equivalent and satisfactory completion of orientation and competencies
  • Fluent in written/spoken English
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion for patients

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor degree is recommended but not required.
