This position reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services. The staff occupational therapist plans, coordinates and implements patient care on the assigned units. Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the unit's standards of care. Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical; treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span and the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Is able to interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's age-specific needs and provide the care needed by the patient group. Must work well under stress or tight deadlines. Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors.
