About The Position

The Occupational Therapist, in the Acute Care setting, provides occupational therapy services by evaluating patients, establishing and implementing effective treatment plans with functional treatment goals, providing patient education and exercise/activity programs, constructing appropriate orthotic devices and educating in use of adaptive equipment. Position is responsible for observing, evaluating and documenting the results of treatment interventions and modify treatment plan accordingly and provides age specific direct patient care according to the department's scope of service. The Occupational Therapist may be required to cover other areas of the WakeMed Rehab continuum.

Requirements

• Licensed Occupational Therapist Required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy Required or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy Required.
• 2 Years Clinical Experience in Occupational Therapy Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and establish effective treatment plans.
• Implement functional treatment goals.
• Provide patient education and exercise/activity programs.
• Construct appropriate orthotic devices.
• Educate patients in the use of adaptive equipment.
• Observe, evaluate, and document treatment interventions.
• Modify treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide age-specific direct patient care.
