About The Position

The Occupational Therapist-Inpatient (Inpt) provides patient care including evaluations, goal setting, treatment planning, family training and the application of treatment techniques in accordance with designated practice act and department policy and procedure. The role involves supervising non California Children's Services (CCS)-paneled staff as assigned, attending discharge rounds for kids with therapy needs, and coordinating services with the Medical Therapy Program (MTP). The position is with Loma Linda University Health, a Seventh-day Adventist, faith and values based Christian institution, and candidates must understand and embrace its mission, purpose, and identity. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Suitable combination of education, training or experience along with a California license in Occupational Therapy is acceptable
  • Able to read
  • Able to write legibly
  • Able to speak in English with professional quality
  • Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position
  • Able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
  • Able to build or create treatment equipment as needed
  • Recognizes safety problems and corrects them
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
  • Able to lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate

  • Able to see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position
  • Able to discern temperature variances through touch
  • Currently licensed by California Board of Occupational Therapy
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification issued by the American Heart Association
