Occupational Therapist - Outpatient - South Hill, VA $10,000 Sign On Bonus for offers accepted by February 28, 2026. Terms and Conditions apply The Occupational Therapist II job conducts evaluations on referred patients. This job plans and implements a comprehensive treatment program that includes discharge planning, patient/family education, and recommendations for follow-up or continued care. This job documents results of the OT evaluation and services provided in accordance with hospital and department guidelines. The Occupational Therapist II job participates as a member of a self-directed departmental team as well as a member of an interdisciplinary patient care team. This job may provide clinical instruction to OT and OTA students as needed. This job may also provide training and education to department and hospital staff. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of 1 year of work experience as an Occupational Therapist Experience PREFERRED: Previous experience with evaluations and interventions (physical and psycho-social) Education/training REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy Education/training PREFERRED: Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy Successful challenge of the VCUHS Occupational Therapy Clinical Ladder Independent action(s) required: Evaluation and treatment of patients with routine diagnoses. Setting schedule and managing time. Reporting in interdisciplinary rounds. Goal setting for routine diagnoses. Completion of routine documentation. Interaction with the interdisciplinary team and self-directed work team. Customer interaction. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Occupational Therapist provides supervision for Rehab Technician, COTA staff, volunteers and students doing clinical rotations. Additional position requirements: Cross-coverage to other treatment teams as needed. Saturday/holiday coverage on a rotating basis and flexibility in work hours as needed to accommodate departmental needs as applicable. Requirements

  • Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist
  • Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist
  • Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy
