About The Position

Position Summary Department: LMH Inpatient Rehab Svs Status: PRN / Pool Title: Occupational Therapist / OT Scheduling Needs for PRN: 20 hours per month (2-3 shifts per month, can range between 8-10 hour shifts) At least 1 weekend shift covered per month as well as 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year (this can be a weekend shift surrounding the holiday) Ideally seeking coverage on Monday, Friday, and Saturday but flexible to other days if needed Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital is a new 124-bed acute-care hospital – with room to grow to 240 beds, located in Seminole County, Florida. Our programs encompass both inpatient and outpatient care The inpatient Acute Care Therapy offers unit-based specialized therapists for Oncology/Lymphedema, Neurological Conditions, Stroke, Orthopedics, Limb Loss, Multiple Traumas, and more! Outpatient services are treated at our outpatient clinic located in Longwood, FL

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved program in occupational therapy.
  • Maintains current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida-temporary permit acceptable.
  • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
  • Open to newly licensed or tenured OT's

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
  • Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as delineated in the departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
  • Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation as required by the department, and the care team.
  • Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from therapy.
  • Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing.
  • Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
  • Provides patient/family education as indicated.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
