Requirements

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider License - Occupational Therapist ( or eligibility to obtain)
  • Current Colorado occupational therapy license through DORA
  • Knowledge of IDEA and school-based service delivery
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • The ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic school environment
  • The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. (Having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)
  • The ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).
  • A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a K-8 school setting
  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
  • School-based or charter school OT experience
  • Bilingual skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide school-based occupational therapy evaluations and services for K-8 students
  • Assess fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, and functional school performance skills
  • Develop and implement IEP goals aligned to educational access and student needs
  • Deliver services through flexible models (push-in, pull-out, consultation)
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement classroom-based strategies and accommodations
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in accordance with IDEA and CDE requirements
  • Support assistive technology considerations and adaptive equipment as needed
