Requirements

  • Current, valid Occupational Therapist (OT) License in the state of California.
  • A passion for functional rehabilitation and a desire to work in a collaborative, team-oriented setting.

Responsibilities

  • Individualized Care: Create and implement comprehensive occupational therapy treatment plans designed to help residents regain independence in their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
  • Clinical Oversight: Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and collaborate with the nursing department to train Restorative Aides.
  • Integrated Treatment: Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, including Patient Care Conferences and Utilization Review, to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
  • Regulatory Documentation: Maintain precise evaluations, daily notes, and progress reports in accordance with the Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act.
  • Discharge Preparation: Lead family and caregiver training sessions to ensure a safe transition home, focusing on maintenance programs and functional independence.
  • Physician Collaboration: Work directly with referring physicians to obtain approvals and update treatment protocols as resident needs evolve.
