Outpatient Rehabilitation Services are provided at multiple off campus locations and include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology services for patients across the life span (Pediatric and Adult). Patients may have a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to, stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic injuries, trauma, burns, chronic pain, birth injuries and other cardiac and neurology-related conditions. The goal of rehabilitation services is to increase the functional independence of our patients and improve their quality of life through state-of-the-art, evidence-based practices. OT will be part of a team of PT and OT providing world class evidence-based care to patients. Primary caseload will be patients with Hand injuries/surgery and Burn injuries, but OT may be expected to work with some patients from other diagnostic/age groups to meet the operational needs of the department. Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must have clinical knowledge and skills to work with adult and pediatric patients with Hand injuries/surgeries and Burn injuries including scar management, splinting and pressure garments In collaboration with patient and /or family member develops individualized treatment plans for each patient Collaborate within discipline and team members of other disciplines and physicians to optimize patient care Manges patient caseload and Documentation to department guidelines Stays current with evidence-bas ed practice through professional development activities as appropriate to caseload Active participation in team meetings Performs all other duties as assigned Travel may be required to meet operational needs at various locations
