About The Position

The Occupational Therapist evaluates, assesses, and plans treatment including orienting clients and families to the purposes and processes of OT evaluation and treatment. The Occupational Therapist will complete screenings and evaluations, write appropriate treatment plans and formulate functional goals to help the client and their family achieve their development goals

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited occupational therapy program
  • Successfully pass the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
  • OT licensure or license eligible, in the state of Illinois
  • CPR Certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement treatment plans for pediatric clients, from birth to age 18
  • Identify and implement therapeutic interventions that help develop client’s fine motor skills, cognition, language skills, self care skills, regulation, and more
  • Assess clients for adaptations and use of special equipment when necessary
  • Adjust communication patterns to the age and level of understanding of the client. This may sometimes include nonverbal means of communication
  • Provide support and guidance to the clients’ family enabling them to foster the behaviors and practices implemented in treatment
  • Prepare and complete detailed documentation and records of evaluations and treatments
  • Collaborate with team members from other disciplines to best support clients needs
  • Maintain targeted caseload hours of 26 therapy per week
