About The Position

Horizon Health Corporation is seeking a Occupational Therapist (Behavioral Health) to work on the inpatient psychiatric units (24-bed Psych Unit) in Grand Forks, ND. We are also planning to expand to an additional 24 beds in 2026. The Occupational Therapist (Behavioral Health) services to patients in an efficient and professional manner. To therapeutically facilitate purposeful occupational role performances of patients to improve both physical and mental functioning abilities. Therapy will be completed in accordance with the patient's developmental, psychological, and physical level of function. Therapists will exemplify ethical conduct as described in the facility mission statement and the North Dakota Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners Code of Ethics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in occupational therapy.
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current license from the North Dakota Board of Occupational Therapy Examiner required (LOT). Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy preferred (OTR). Rec Therapist Certification – CTRS.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year experience in a neurorehabilitation or psychiatric setting, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resources policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Must actively support the mission, philosophy, and goals for the hospital.
  • Must be able to communicate with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues.
  • Provide individual and group therapy to patients and family education when indicated.
  • Provide OT evaluations of patients.
  • Document all clinical services provided.
  • Provide consultation on OT related problems, specific treatment techniques, and other programming issues.
  • Promote an understanding of OT principles and team involvement in patient care.
  • Participate in departmental meetings.
  • Maintains professional demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unit milieu, and hospital mission and philosophy.
  • Participates in performance improvement.
  • Compliant with all mandatory training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
