Central Maine Healthcare is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our care team at Rumford Community Home, longterm care faculity. This is a per diem, flexible schedule position. This position makes a direct positive impact on the Western Foothills community by providing one-on-one occupational therapy services to patients in the longterm care facility setting. What It’s Like Working at CMH CMH provides support to participate in continuing education opportunities, helping our team members achieve their own goals while helping patients achieve theirs. Every Occupational Therapy patient visit is a one-on-one session to provide attentive, personalized care. Rumford Hospital provides the ability to provide both inpatient and outpatient services. Therapy teams across the CMH system work closely together to provide additional resources, support and training. Requirements

  • Current State Occupational Therapy Licensure
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Flexibility, organization and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Ability to identify and respectfully address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
  • Ability to meet current documentation standards and policies in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to direct and triage in a highly fluid dynamic operational environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with all layers of the management/ administration team.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients and develops a comprehensive treatment plan to restore patients to their maximum functional potential.
  • Directs therapeutic intervention for the restoration of patient’s functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability.
  • Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
  • Provides treatment and instruction to patients according to acceptable principles and practices of Occupational Therapy.
  • Collaborates as a member of the health care team for the provision of comprehensive patient care.
  • Consistent with training and competency review, provides care to adult and geriatric patients.
  • The staff therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to staff (aides, etc.).
  • The staff therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in PI activities.
  • Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
