Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
  • Required Licensure(s): NYS licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Required Field of Expertise: Neurological Rehabilitation
  • Competent in creating hand and wrist splints
  • Thorough knowledge of Medicare rules and regulations as it applies to the delivery of occupational therapy services, and ·complete visit notes within designated time frame.
  • Must be highly organized with strong communication skills, be patient oriented, and attentive to details.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience is preferred.

  • Preferred Degree: Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Geriatric Rehabilitation
  • Preferred Training/Cert: Health and Wellness Certification
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administers direct patient care in accordance with the written and signed prescription of the referring physician or other state authorized practitioner, and submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Department.
  • Utilizes thorough and appropriate evaluation techniques to establish realistic goals.
  • Designs and implements a treatment plan which best meets the needs of the patient and works toward achieving established goals.
  • Recommend and educate in the use of adaptive equipment for facilitation of activities of daily living.
