About The Position

About the Role: The Occupational Therapist (OT) plays a critical role in helping individuals of all ages develop, recover, or maintain meaningful daily activities and independence. This position involves assessing patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to create personalized therapy plans that address their unique needs. The OT collaborates closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement interventions that improve functional outcomes and quality of life. Through evidence-based practices, the OT supports patients in overcoming challenges related to injury, illness, or disability, promoting their participation in everyday tasks. Ultimately, the role aims to empower patients to achieve greater autonomy and enhance their overall well-being within their home, work, or community environments.

Requirements

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid Occupational Therapy license to practice in the United States.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Experience conducting patient assessments and developing treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse patient populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in specialized areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or hand therapy.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
  • Previous work experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
  • Continuing education or training in the latest occupational therapy interventions and research.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities to determine therapy needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on improving patients' functional skills and independence.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions using adaptive techniques, assistive devices, and exercises tailored to each patient's goals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, caregivers, and family members to coordinate care and support patient progress.
  • Document patient progress, update treatment plans as necessary, and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
