Under the guidance of the Manager of Rehab Medicine and level II and III Occupational Therapists, the level I Occupational Therapist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of the patient’s needs following disability, injury, disease, or amputation, to help attain a maximum level of independence and performance. The therapist plans treatment programs and administers modalities and other related procedures, under the prescription of the patient’s physician. Treatment will be provided in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. He/she is responsible for documenting and communicating all necessary information to all appropriate parties. The therapist is responsible for the care of patients in all patient care areas of OSU Medical Center, as the situation requires. The therapist may also supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants. The therapist must follow standards of performance for Occupational Therapy as established by all governing bodies. He/she also performs other duties as required.
