About The Position

Catapult Learning is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to join our team on an as-needed basis within school settings in Philadelphia, to complete evaluations only. This position offers a unique opportunity for professionals looking for flexible work hours. The position is ideal for candidates seeking supplemental work as hours are not guaranteed and may be very limited from week to week. The primary responsibility will be to complete occupational therapy evaluations for students across grade levels K-12, as needed. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience providing speech evaluations to students is preferred
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have at Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy, as required by state and contract
  • Registered and licensed Pennsylvania Occupational Therapist required (OTR/L)
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Must have or be willing to obtain all active PA state mandated clearances (Child abuse, FBI fingerprints, criminal background check, etc.)
  • Must be proficient with virtual platforms, i.e. TEAMS, MS Office
  • For virtual service, professional/private home space is required
  • Various non-public school settings across the city of Philadelphia (Elementary and High School)

Responsibilities

  • Administers appropriate screening and/or diagnostic tests to determine a child’s competency in relation to functional tasks, sensory processing, fine/gross motor skills, and cognition.
  • Determine student eligibility for special education services under one of the primary disability categories defined by IDEA..
  • Interprets diagnostic tests, identifies strengths and weaknesses in areas of functional performance, produces standardized test scores, provides in-person observation, and generates reports providing feedback to parents and when applicable, school personnel.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive evaluation reports that document the presence or absence of an impairment, including results, interpretation, and recommendations in accordance with IDEA requirements
  • Serves as a member of the student’s multidisciplinary team, if appropriate.
  • Offers consultation and collaboration with school psychologists and parents in support of students’ occupational therapy testing results.
  • Completes required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
