The primary function of this Inpatient Occupational Therapist role is to plan, coordinate, evaluate, and provide Occupational Therapy services in adherence to the standards set by the AOTA, The Occupational Therapy Practice Act, NYS Department of Health, and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals. The therapist is also expected to effectively lead activities within their designated discipline and actively support the mission, goals, and objectives of the Health System.

Requirements

The Occupational Therapist must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret each patient's requirements relative to age specific needs and to the care needed for effective treatment.
Must demonstrate the skills necessary to evaluate and treat injuries within their scope of practice.
Additionally, the Occupational Therapist must be competent in the clinical application of therapeutic modalities.
NYS Occupational Therapy licensure
Baccalaureate of Science from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Program

Nice To Haves

Minimum one year experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred

Responsibilities
