About The Position

Open Sky’s Day Habilitation programs serve individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Adult Learning Center in Whitinsville, Massachusetts serves adults aged 21 and over, offering socialization and community membership, occupational, physical, and speech therapies, nursing supports, life skills and communication training, and opportunities to practice self-advocacy. The Community Connections program in Wrentham, Massachusetts serves adults with intellectual disabilities, and in some cases co-occurring mental health or physical challenges. This program provides occupation, speech, physical therapies, nursing services, and opportunities for socialization, community membership, and self-advocacy. The Occupational Therapist will provide OT support to the individuals in the Community Connections and the Adult Learning Center day habilitation programs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder , Intellectual Disabilities and Developmental Disabilities. They will c onduct assessments, develop individualized treatment and support plans based on identified needs while monitoring progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust interventions to foster skill development and independence.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Allied Health Professions.
  • Strong leadership, adaptability, time management, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and analyze individual needs, and to develop and implement appropriate treatment plans that promote skill development in identified areas, reqeuired.
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving history

Responsibilities

  • Build collaborative relationships with individuals served , families, staff, and stakeholders to support person-centered goals.
  • Collaborate with program leadership and interdisciplinary staff teams to support integrated service delivery.
  • Provide occupational therapy consultation to staff, programming teams, and individuals; respond to urgent needs and offer stability during serious events.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver staff training to address the occupational therapy needs of program participants.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community-based providers to enhance service quality and continuity of care.
