This position involves evaluating and treating patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits. The Occupational Therapist assesses a patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills, then designs and implements an appropriate plan of care using various modalities. Key responsibilities include documenting patient progress, monitoring and modifying care plans as needed, and seeking consultation when necessary. The role also requires educating patients and their families/caregivers about patient deficits, assisting with discharge planning, and providing information on adaptive equipment and support programs. Additionally, the therapist oversees care provided by designated individuals in accordance with established regulations and practice standards, while maintaining a constant state of alertness and safety.
