About The Position

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has provided compassionate care to the children, teenagers and young adults of Central Florida for more than 25 years. Led by dedicated doctors, specialists and caregivers, Arnold Palmer Hospital offers a wide range of advanced pediatric services in an environment built just for kids. Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital is seeking a Acute Care Occupational Therapist. This role includes evaluation, treatment, and collaboration within our multi-disciplinary team for all children admitted to OHAPH.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or higher from an approved program.
  • Maintains current Occupational Therapy license in the State of Florida. Temporary permit is acceptable.
  • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of pediatric experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, the physician, interdisciplinary team meetings, family and significant other persons and data sources.
  • Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives and treats accordingly.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
  • Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing using an electronic medical record.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary rounds
  • Collaborates as part of the multi-disciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintains a positive and encouraging treatment environment.
  • Demonstrates compassion, honesty, and open communication with all patients and coworkers.
  • Participates in performance Improvement, program development, student supervision, assigned committees, safety, and infection control, as required.
  • Practices efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment.
  • Communicates and collaborates with multiple specialty healthcare providers.
  • Attends rehabilitation meetings, in-services, and any patient care meetings that are required for the assignment.
