About The Position

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team on a contracted basis to cover a leave of absence beginning in February and concluding in August. The OT serves as a functioning member of the educational team with duties to include: screening, evaluation, educational programs, transition planning, therapeutic intervention, and exit planning for students identified with or suspected of having disabilities that interfere with school performance.

Requirements

  • PA Licensure in Occupational Therapy

Responsibilities

  • Work with other disciplines to ensure team understanding of student occupational performance strengths and needs through evaluation, educational program planning and service delivery.
  • Evaluates the student's ability and formulates the student's occupational profile through a variety of functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments, skilled observation, checklists, histories, and interviews.
  • Interprets evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and challenges to students participation in the educational environment, directs program development, and guides evidence based intervention.
