About The Position

About Beaumont Children’s Center Dearborn Trusted and comprehensive care: Part of Beaumont Health, Beaumont Children’s sees 200,000 children and teens each year. Specially trained, in-house pediatricians oversee care in our 40-bed inpatient unit at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital. We also offer hospital care in Dearborn and Troy, as well as outpatient care across Southeast Michigan. Commitment to our community’s children: Beaumont Children’s is the only Southeast Michigan affiliate of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a national non-profit dedicated to saving and improving children’s lives. All money we raise stays local. Many donations support treatment for local families who could not otherwise afford care. About the Unit: Working in an outpatient pediatric (hospital-based) rehab setting. Treating children birth -26. Must have experience working in this setting; including experience with autism, neurological diagnoses, syndromes, orthopedic conditions, sensory impairment, and feeding difficulties. Scope of Work: In collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, provides therapeutic services including evaluation, treatment, and education. Monitors the treatment activities of COTA’s and aides. Completes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with the established standards of care and practice. Plans and provides treatment to assigned patients as appropriate in accordance with established standards of care and practice. Completes all documentation of services per department standards. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job related hazards. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives. Maintains updated license and submits evidence of status to supervisor/manager within two weeks of receipt of new or updated license.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited OT school.
  • Successful completion of clinical internship.
  • Current State OT license.
  • BLS certification.

  • Previous clinical experience/rehabilitation experience preferred.
