Requirements

  • Current Occupational Therapy license issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT).
  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a program approved by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Occupational Therapy experience required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of pediatric experience, preferably serving children from birth to five (0–5) years of age.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Must obtain criminal record clearance from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a safe driving record and at least two (2) years of licensed driving experience.
  • Must maintain current and adequate auto insurance.
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification if not currently certified (training provided for new hires).
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook for documentation and communication.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented professional with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive, supportive, and professional working relationships with families, colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure accuracy and completeness of program documentation and paperwork.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage workload independently.
  • Demonstrates cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse families, values, and lifestyles.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review collateral and intake information provided for each child.
  • Evaluate each child’s ability to function and engage in everyday activities and routines using developmentally appropriate assessment tools.
  • Complete intake paperwork, evaluations, assessments, reports, and individualized treatment plans in collaboration with children and their families.
  • Assist in the development and ongoing implementation of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Align therapy goals and interventions with IFSP outcomes to support meaningful, family-centered progress.
  • Schedule, plan, and conduct home-based visits with assigned families to carry out treatment plans and IFSP goals.
  • Provide therapeutic services in family homes and other natural community settings, as appropriate.
  • Maintain consistent communication with families and members of the interdisciplinary (ID) team to ensure coordinated, high-quality services.
  • Partner with caregivers to provide education, coaching, and support tailored to each family’s needs.
  • Prepare, collect, and maintain accurate educational information files, case notes, records, and documentation, including information received from outside agencies.
  • Ensure all documentation meets program, regulatory, and agency requirements.
  • Conduct research related to families’ needs for services and provide relevant resources and educational information.
  • Travel throughout Imperial County to deliver services in family homes and other community locations.
