About The Position

The Staff Occupational Therapist provides high‑quality, patient‑centered occupational therapy services to individuals with functional limitations, injuries, or disabilities. This role is responsible for evaluating patients, developing individualized treatment plans, implementing evidence‑based interventions, and collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team to support optimal outcomes. Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active state Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and evidence‑based treatment skills in outpatient occupational therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to effectively manage a caseload and maintain timely, accurate documentation.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced outpatient setting with diverse patient populations.
  • Familiarity with therapy equipment, adaptive devices, and standard therapeutic techniques.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems (Prompt experience a plus).
  • Ability to lift, assist, and transfer patients as required
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and manual therapy activities
  • Ability to demonstrate therapeutic exercises and techniques

Nice To Haves

  • Experience treating hand and upper extremity injuries preferred.
  • CHT preferred but willing to mentor
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess functional abilities, deficits, and patient goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans.
  • Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic activities, manual therapy, modalities, ADL retraining, cognitive/perceptual training, and functional work‑related tasks.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, safety, and self‑management strategies.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, and support staff to coordinate holistic patient care.
  • Document evaluations, daily notes, and progress reports accurately and in compliance with regulatory and payer standards.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to maximize functional outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain licensure, continuing education, and professional competence per state and organizational requirements.
