About The Position

EvergreenHealth’s Acute Care/Inpatient Rehabilitation department is comprised of a dynamic interdisciplinary team serving adult/geriatric patients and their families on the Greater Eastside since 1979. We employ licensed Physical and Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistants, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Rehabilitation Aides. EvergreenHealth's Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) named among Washington state's top six rehabilitation facilities by Newsweek for 2024 hosts a 14-bed inpatient unit with a focus on acute rehabilitation for patients who suffer from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, complex neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, multiple trauma, amputation and other injuries or disorders. Job Summary: Responsible for providing assessment and treatment programs designed to return patients to their optimum functional level, in coordination with other team members.

Requirements

  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Washington
  • Baccalaureate, Master’s Degree, or certificate in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
  • Knowledge and training in the special needs of patients from young adult to geriatric ages and is responsible for the needs associated with these groups.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in acute care and/or rehabilitative center
  • Membership in a professional organization
  • Certification in area of specialty

Responsibilities

  • Performs individualized evaluation and ongoing assessment related to patient’s condition, addressing special needs and behaviors. This will include, but is not limited to, assessments of range of motion, strength, mobility, coordination, transfers, activities of daily living such as feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene, and cognitive and perceptual deficits.
  • Develops treatment goals, in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team, that are time specific and result in discharge of the patient to his home environment attaining the highest level of function possible. Intervention may include the need to design, fabricate, select, and fit prosthetic, orthotic and self-help devices.
  • Develops the treatment plan and revises as necessary from the goals set by the interdisciplinary team in coordination with the physician, the patient and the family.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
