About The Position

Screens and assesses patients based on diagnosis and age to develop an individualized plan of care. 2. Discusses findings, and collaborates with patients/family on the establishment of goals. 3. Implements creative treatment activities based upon patient’s age, interest, education level and social history and cultural and spiritual considerations. 4. Monitors patient response to treatment and changes plan, as needed. 5. Develops a program to support performance in the home and community environment. 6. Teaches specific activities/procedures to patient, family or hospital personnel in a manner consistent with their level of understanding. 7. Monitors treatment environment for safety. 8. Considers psychosocial aspects of care. 9. Terminates services when maximum benefit is received and formulates follow-up plan, when indicated. 10. Documents care and maintain records, as required. 11. Schedules and prioritizes workload to meet productivity standards and deadlines. 12. Provides in-service education to staff and clinical education to students. 13. Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy, required.
  • Current New York State license or New York State limited permit.
  • Minimum of one (1) year related experience with Bachelors Degree, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy, preferred.
  • No experience required with Masters Degree.
