About The Position

Provides consultation, evaluation, and occupational therapy services to patients. Establishes a rehabilitative plan of care with realistic goals following a functional evaluation for all patients. Provides education to patients, family members, students, staff, and to the community at large. Coordinates services with other medical disciplines, making recommendations as appropriate to facilitate a complete rehabilitative process. Participates in Performance Improvement and Risk Management activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of occupational therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Certified as an Occupational Therapist by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
• Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New York.
• Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
• Completes population specific competency annually on populations served as identified in scope of care and service.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• BLS for Health Care Providers preferred.
• Heavy work: continual and repetitive motions, including but not limited to, heavy lifting, bending, stooping, twisting, pulling, pushing, and prolonged walking and standing.
