About The Position

Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to deliver high‑quality, creative, and strength‑based interventions within the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. The role involves supporting adults with complex needs through assessments, major adaptations, and equipment recommendations, enabling service users to maintain independence and safety within the community.

Requirements

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
  • Experience with: Complex moving & handling cases Major home adaptations (DFG knowledge beneficial) Strong community-based assessment experience
  • Excellent communication and clinical reasoning abilities

Responsibilities

  • Assessment & Intervention: Use a strength-based approach to complete assessments and develop OT support plans.
  • Work creatively to meet service users’ functional, environmental, and health needs.
  • Conduct complex moving and handling assessments.
  • Advise on daily living challenges and community services (LD, Mental Health, Primary Care).
  • Implement risk reduction strategies via equipment, techniques, or technology.
  • Recommend and order appropriate and cost-effective equipment and major/minor adaptations.
  • Provide demonstrations and training to service users, families, and carers on equipment use.
  • Keep up to date with new assistive technology and equipment developments.
  • Professional Standards & Service Delivery: Adhere to HCPC standards and RBKC OT service policies.
  • Maintain high-quality professional documentation and concise records.
  • Work collaboratively with health and community agencies to ensure continuity of care.
  • Contribute to departmental policies, service improvements, and project work.
  • Achieve required performance targets and meet deadlines.
  • Supervision & Team Contribution: Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT Students when required.
  • Share new knowledge and training insights with the team.
  • Represent the OT service at internal/external meetings or working groups.
  • Professional Development: Identify training needs and attend internal/external CPD opportunities.
  • Maintain development logs and support learning across the team.
  • Stay current with updates in OT practice, legislation, and social care provision.
  • IT/ System: Use relevant IT systems including: Personal Index Email (Lotus Notes/Outlook) Word / PowerPoint Intranet / Internet Complete mandatory digital training as required.
