Job Summary: This position is accountable to provide occupational therapy services to patients, including assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, communication with other disciplines and services, and staff supervision as agreed. Staff may care for all age groups from infants to elderly and is aware of the developmental needs over the age span and the appropriate equipment for all ages. This position must demonstrate a commitment of quality service to our patients, the public and our co-workers. Therapists will be accountable for their actions and strive to exceed customer expectations. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Evaluates patients to for goal settings, treatment planning with implementation of the POC. Record and document patient evaluation, treatment and progress to accurately reflect the services provided and patient performance. Supervises therapy personnel/students as assigned. Keeps current knowledge on new programs and treatments and/or participates in special projects in the occupational therapy field. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Team Leader Duties: Lead department-specific Staff Meetings and huddles in collaboration with Manager. Manage daily operational activities related to the departmental budget.(i.e. ordering supplies, linen, etc.) Provides coaching and mentoring as needed. Assists with performance appraisals and disciplinary process in conjunction with manager as appropriate. Qualifications for Associates designated as OT - License Applicant for MWH-Pediatric Therapy Those practicing as an OT – License applicant must meet the requirements as follows: Be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy education program within in the last six months This designation shall not be used beyond six months of graduation or by OT applicants that have received a failing score on any examination required by the Board for licensure. Work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Required Physical Requirements: Constant (67-100% of workday) walking, standing, use of arms and hands; frequent (34-66% of workday) bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting; ability to lift 35 lbs.; ability to push and pull 20 lbs.; auditory and visual skills to include color determination; ability to work in confined spaces; ability to reach above/overhead. Mental Requirements: Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. Capacity to cope with difficult situations. Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends. Environmental Requirements and Exposure Hazards: Potential risk of exposure to radiation and toxic chemicals. Potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens; must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
