This opportunity is perfect for those wanting extra hours or returning to the OT profession. Position Highlights: Schedule: Minimum of 8 weekends per year – you choose the dates! Hours: 8-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday (start time between 7:00–8:30 AM based on therapist needs) Optional: Potential for additional weekday hours if desired Our Facility: Modern, spacious gym with up-to-date equipment 120-bed Level 3 Trauma Center Specialties include Orthopedic, Cardiac, and Neurosurgery 12-bed Intensive Care Unit 5-bed Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit JCAHO-certified Primary Stroke Center Whether you’re looking to supplement your schedule or re-engage with the OT field, this role offers flexibility and a supportive environment. Job Summary: Evaluates and treats patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy, or related area as required to obtain licensure in state of practice
  • No experience required
  • Resuscitation Certification Requirement: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 day of employment. Other resuscitation certifications may be required dependent on department.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
  • Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
  • Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
  • Documents findings of patient progress.
  • Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed.
  • Seeks consultation as necessary.
  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Oversees the care provided by designated individuals according to established regulations and practice standards.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
