Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
  • Legal Requirements: Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Nebraska.
  • Knowledge of: Occupational therapy principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Diagnostic treatment, assessment, and rehabilitation procedures.
  • Documentation standards and use of orthotic/prosthetic/adaptive devices.
  • Human growth and development across life stages.
  • Skill in: Administering and interpreting clinical assessments.
  • Developing effective, individualized treatment plans.
  • Preparing detailed progress and evaluation reports.
  • Ability to: Motivate clients and encourage participation in therapy programs.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Build rapport with clients, families, and interdisciplinary staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Master Degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
  • OT/L, Preferred OTR/L (registered with NBCOT(R), and licensed in Nebraska(L))

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy assessments using observation, interviews, examinations, and testing to guide individualized treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement treatment and habilitation programs based on identified rehabilitation goals.
  • Administer and interpret evaluations to assess clients' developmental and therapeutic needs.
  • Communicate client needs, treatment goals, and progress with an interdisciplinary team, clients, families, and guardians.
  • Monitor, document, and evaluate client responses to therapy; modify treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide in-service training for occupational therapy staff and other facility personnel regarding OT practices and goals.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies, adaptive equipment, and durable medical equipment as needed.
  • Develop and coordinate therapeutic adaptations for clients' care and environment, including adaptive equipment, wheelchair modifications, and splints.
