Location: Johns Hopkins Bayview Schedule: Day Shift schedules available Pay Rate:$50–$55 per hour Responsibilities Provides evaluation, treatment, and program planning for patients referred to Occupational Therapy. The role includes direct supervision of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and accountability for all occupational therapy services delivered. Maintains professional, documentation, and fiscal standards while providing education to patients, families, staff, and students. Contributes to the advancement of the profession and facility through quality care, education, and clinical improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • One year of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred.
  • Current Maryland state license in Occupational Therapy required.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform occupational therapy evaluations, develop plans of care, establish goals, document progress, and complete discharge summaries.
  • Plan and conduct individual and group therapy sessions in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and patient assessments.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve functional independence, including ADL training, therapeutic exercises, splinting, energy conservation, stress management, relaxation techniques, and life skills training.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate treatment plans and discharge needs; actively participate in team meetings.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercises and treatment programs using verbal instruction, written materials, and demonstrations.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, including empathy in challenging interpersonal situations.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively in psychiatric and/or acute care rehabilitation environments.
  • Ensure availability and proper functioning of departmental equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in departmental goal setting, quality assurance initiatives, budgeting, and annual policy reviews.
  • Supervise and support Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in alignment with professional standards.
