Occupational Therapist

About the position

As an Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate and treat patients while maintaining communication with patients, clients, and team members. You will be responsible for documenting services in the medical record and conducting ongoing training for patients and team members on restorative techniques. Your duties will be carried out in accordance with established medical practices, governmental requirements, and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Respect and uphold all residents' personal and property rights whenever carrying out duties.
• Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Supervise Therapist Assistants and therapy students in direct patient care.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and a collaborative team-building approach.
• Consistently attend work and provide appropriate notice for scheduled paid time off.
• Maintain productivity standards as determined by supervisor and clinical needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
• Evaluate patients based upon physician referral/orders.
• Develop effective treatment plans with functional, goal-based outcomes.
• Treat patients according to treatment plan.
• Record clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory and professional guidelines.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited college or university with a valid state license or eligibility to obtain a license in the state where services are provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with others.
• Must be able to relate to and work with physically and/or mentally ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.
