Occupational Therapy Supervisor is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising the Occupational and Recreational Therapy Staff and responsible for developing and maintaining Occupational Therapy programs to meet the identified needs of the community. This position is administratively responsible for the management of fiscal and personnel resources in occupational and recreational therapy. Responsible for department management, staffing, program development, education, staff mentoring and advocacy. Coordinates and supervises staff and clinical affiliates, treatments and activity schedule. Assists in planning and establishing policies and procedures and development of new programs. Trains and monitors competency of new and current personnel. Completes staff performance evaluations. Direct patient care including evaluation and treatment as dictated by census with a negative variance. Performs medically prescribed consultative and therapeutic services within scope of practice in order to restore function and prevent disability for clients or patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and/or cardiopulmonary disorders. Assists Director in management of department and assumes any delegated assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current California Occupational Therapy certification (CBOT)
  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience as a Occupational Therapist required
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certificate

Nice To Haves

  • Current National Board for Certification Occupational Therapy certification preferred
  • AOTA and OTAC preferred
