Requirements

Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Active Virginia Occupational Therapist License (or eligibility)
Strong understanding of pediatric therapy and developmental milestones
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage caseload across multiple school settings

Nice To Haves

Previous school-based occupational therapy experience
Experience working with K–12 student populations
Familiarity with IEP documentation and school therapy protocols

Responsibilities

Conduct evaluations to determine students’ occupational therapy needs
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Provide direct therapy services to students with physical, sensory, or developmental challenges
Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to support student progress
Develop and support Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
Monitor student progress and modify therapy interventions as needed
Maintain accurate documentation, evaluations, and progress reports
Recommend adaptive equipment and classroom modifications when appropriate
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Ensure compliance with school district policies and professional standards
