Job Summary and Qualifications Employee will provide direct patient care by continuously evaluating, developing a treatment plan, and conducting appropriate occupational therapy management to meet the individual needs of medically referred population including NICU, adult, and geriatrics in an efficient, productive manner within the guidelines of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act and the American Occupational Therapy Association's Standards for Practice and Code of Ethics. To take all appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the patients. To maintain accurate , current records on all patients according to the department's policy and procedures. To supervise support staff and other departmental staff as it relates to patient care. To participate in the quality improvement process and in updating programs and/or development of new programs .

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (OTR) Occupational Therapist Registered, or (OT) Occupational Therapist
  • Bachelors Degree, or Masters Degree
  • Texas Occupational Therapist license

Nice To Haves

  • Acute Care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating each patient's functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
  • Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
  • Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
  • Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
  • Leading by example—providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare's mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
