About The Position

At CHI Health CUMC-Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging. As our Acute Care Occupational Therapist at CUMC-Bergan Mercy, you will provide essential in-home occupational therapy services under physician's orders. Your role involves evaluating home safety, assessing functional needs, and implementing tailored treatment to promote independence. Every day you will evaluate home safety, assess functional needs of physically disabled patients, then develop, plan, and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment procedures. To be successful, you will demonstrate strong assessment, treatment planning, and implementation skills for in-home care. Excellent communication for patient education and a commitment to promoting independence and safety are essential. Provides occupational therapy assessment, care planning, patient treatment and education according to the professional practice guidelines defined by state and professional sources. Works as a collaborative team member to develop a coordinated care plan that is accountable to achievement of established goals. Is knowledgable and completes all required documentation and billing requirements according to established local, state and federal law. Is responsible for the knowledge and application of measurable quality metrics associated with the area of active practice. Periodically attends team meetings to discuss/improve program evaluation/quality measures. Provides supervision to occupational therapy assistants and techs according to established local, state and federal guidelines. Takes responsibility to stay current with evidenced based practice guidelines, stays current with new research introduced and serves as a professional resource to other team members in the area of occupational therapy practice.

Requirements

  • Active occupational therapy license in the State of NE.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
