The position is for an Occupational Therapist – Pediatric Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, recognized as a leader in pediatric health care. This full-time role provides specialized occupational therapy services to pediatric hand patients in several multidisciplinary clinic settings.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine rehabilitation treatment diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with healthcare and educational teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to support functional outcomes and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Promote successful transitions to home, school, and community environments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with VUMC and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze comprehensive information from formal and informal assessments pertinent to the patient's care.
  • Coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the rehabilitation continuum.
  • Employ strategies to promote successful return to home, community, and school/vocational environments.
  • Active and unrestricted Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) license in Tennessee or eligibility to obtain.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Pediatric clinical experience working with hand therapy patients.
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential.
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Pediatric specialty certifications such as Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT), Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), or Early Intervention (EI) training.
