Requirements

  • Valid California Occupational Therapist License
  • Current CPR Certification
  • 2+ years of clinical experience as an OT
  • Reliable, insured vehicle and a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient, caregiver, and family education to support recovery and independence
  • Communicate proactively with physicians and care team regarding patient progress and care plans
  • Evaluate patient functional status, including strength, coordination, endurance, communication abilities, self-care skills, and work capacity
  • Assess the home environment and identify barriers to safe, independent living
  • Recommend and instruct on adaptive equipment, splints, prosthetics, and orthotics
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and set measurable goals for improved function
  • Teach or retrain patients in daily living skills impacted by illness, surgery, or injury
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
