Requirements
- Valid California Occupational Therapist License
- Current CPR Certification
- 2+ years of clinical experience as an OT
- Reliable, insured vehicle and a valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Provide patient, caregiver, and family education to support recovery and independence
- Communicate proactively with physicians and care team regarding patient progress and care plans
- Evaluate patient functional status, including strength, coordination, endurance, communication abilities, self-care skills, and work capacity
- Assess the home environment and identify barriers to safe, independent living
- Recommend and instruct on adaptive equipment, splints, prosthetics, and orthotics
- Develop individualized treatment plans and set measurable goals for improved function
- Teach or retrain patients in daily living skills impacted by illness, surgery, or injury
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
