About The Position

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide related therapy services within a public school setting. This school-based OT role involves working with students receiving special education services, supporting their physical, emotional, sensory, and self-care development to help them achieve IEP goals. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Valid State Occupational Therapy License
  • Educational/Teacher Certification if mandated by state guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pediatrics, sensory integration, neurodevelopmental therapy (preferred)
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
  • Prior experience working in school-based OT roles
  • Understanding of IDEA and state-specific special education regulations
  • Skilled in writing and executing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, and other disabilities

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments using diagnostic tools to evaluate fine motor, visual-motor, perceptual, sensory-motor, and self-care skills.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams, including teachers, therapists, and families.
  • Develop and implement IEPs with measurable goals and objectives tailored to each student's needs.
  • Deliver therapy sessions through individual, group, or consultative models based on IEP requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
  • Support student independence and participation in the academic environment.
