About The Position

PIVOT Rehabilitation is hiring a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide on-site occupational therapy services within Assisted Living communities in Austin, TX and surrounding areas. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active Texas Occupational Therapist (OT) license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, and time-management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if traveling between communities)

Nice To Haves

  • Assisted Living, SNF, Home Health, or Senior Living occupational therapy experience preferred (1+ year preferred)
  • Experience with Medicare Part B documentation preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicare Part B and senior living therapy regulations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform occupational therapy evaluations for Assisted Living residents
  • Develop and update individualized Plans of Care (POC) under Medicare Part B guidelines
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy for orthopedic, neurological, cognitive, and post-surgical conditions
  • Address ADLs and IADLs, including dressing, bathing, toileting, grooming, feeding, and functional mobility
  • Improve upper extremity strength, coordination, ROM, balance, and fine motor skills
  • Implement fall prevention strategies and safety interventions within Assisted Living apartments
  • Recommend environmental modifications to promote resident independence
  • Train residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment and durable medical equipment (DME)
  • Fabricate splints and recommend assistive devices as appropriate
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
  • Communicate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Supervise COTAs as applicable
  • Follow Medicare Part B regulations, Assisted Living compliance standards, infection control, and safety protocols
