POSITION SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapist (OT) in the acute care hospital setting is responsible for the evaluation and assessment of ADL performance and functional mobility, effective and efficient delivery of rehabilitation services under an established plan of care, and timely documentation of services. The OT consults with other members of their patients’ medical teams and collaborates with the patient and/or their support system to promote the highest level of safety and independence.

Requirements

  • valid and unencumbered Occupational Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
  • current registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
  • current CPR Certification
  • At least one year of clinical experience within the acute care setting is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective leadership and patient relationship skills
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems
  • Maintains professional attitudes and respect for the hospital site and their staff
  • Treats all patients and their families with dignity, compassion, empathy and respect
  • Proven track record with high volume workloads
