About The Position

The Occupational Therapist at Manchester Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is responsible for assessing patients requiring rehabilitation services, providing direct patient care, and establishing treatment programs tailored to individual patient needs. This role emphasizes collaboration with other healthcare disciplines to ensure optimal patient-centered care and includes supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapist college or university.
• Valid professional license and registration for the state of practice.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred.
• Well-versed in documentation writing, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge documentation.
• Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients requiring rehabilitation services.
• Provide direct patient care to evaluate medical conditions and functional capabilities.
• Establish and administer treatment programs with specific goals based on patient capacity and tolerance.
• Set realistic and achievable goals for patients and document their conditions.
• Educate patients and families on appropriate therapy methods.
• Oversee and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Collaborate with all disciplines to provide the best patient-centered treatment and care.
• Adhere to scheduled hours and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.
