Requirements

  • Active OT or OTA credential, licensed or otherwise regulated in the state of Colorado.
  • Associate's degree or higher from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the USDE.
  • Graduation from an accredited OT or OTA program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.
  • Minimum 3 years of occupational experience in the field of Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Documented expertise in areas of teaching responsibility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and evaluating daily lesson plans including scheduled activities, materials, and semester objectives.
  • Preparing and delivering lectures, labs, and practical demonstrations for students in class and individually.
  • Monitoring student attendance and coordinating with the Associate Director when absences occur two days in a row; preparing weekly attendance reports.
  • Meeting with students to encourage retention and maintaining an 80% student success rate for all classes taught.
  • Evaluating student performance, maintaining grades per established policies, and preparing final grades at the end of each semester.
  • Assisting and advising students with OTA program curriculum and providing supervision when necessary.
  • Evaluating students' clinical performance and assisting with externship coordination as needed.
  • Participating in projects, committee work, and program planning to support department goals.
