About The Position

Occupational Therapist (OT) Outpatient Full-time Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together · Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104 · Therapy Services Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM or 8:30AM-4:30PM; Weekends: Does cover for inpatient on call on weekend < 1 weekend day per quarter; Holidays: 1 holiday per year (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, New Years Day) and rotational basis of less than once every 10 years to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas day. Outpatient Therapy Services highlights: · Supporting the 815-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital that has served the Ft. Worth and surrounding community since 1930 · Patients are seen 1-on-1 for 1-hour blocks. Largely neurological patients with stroke, brain tumor or traumatic brain injury. Poly trauma also seen. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.
  • No Experience required – new grads are welcome!
  • OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
  • Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
  • Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel
  • Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
