About The Position

Occupational Therapist (OT) Acute Care Full-time Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together · Work location\: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104 · Therapy Services Work hours\: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8\:00AM-4\:30PM; Weekends\: 1 weekend day per quarter; Holidays\: 1 holiday per year (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4 th , Labor Day, New Years Day) and rotational basis of less than once every 10 years to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas day. Worth and surrounding community since 1930 · Supportive team of over 40 Occupational Therapists in an acute care trauma hospital – focus on inpatient. #LI-JH1

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.
• No Experience required – new grads are welcome!
• OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly R equired.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
• Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prefer experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
• Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
• Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
• Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel
• Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
