The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the laws and rules that govern the practice of occupational therapy in the state of Ohio. The individual who fills this position will be responsible for serving patients with a variety of diagnoses and impairments, including, but not limited to, general medicine, burns, amputations, orthopedic issues, strokes, cardiopulmonary and cardiovascular limitations, and oncological needs. Although team members report directly to a team leader, they are also responsible to each other, to those they supervise, and to other participants included in the patient care activities. Occupational Therapist rehabilitation team members must be licensed and/or certified with the respective profession (Occupational Therapy), and meet the educational and/or certification requirements established by their professions (Occupational Therapists must hold a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy at a minimum). Degree must have been granted from an accredited institution. All licensed professionals must be cleared through the National Database of Practitioners. Typically, one-two years experience working in a medical setting is preferred for all professionals hired.
