About The Position

We specialize in the areas of brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and complex medical conditions. We offer inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to patients 15 years of age and older. RHI is the only Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model System in the state of Indiana and one of only 16 in the U.S. Our Occupational Therapy department has been highlighted by the American Occupational Therapy Association in the OT Practice publication (Feb 2021) for RHI's implementation of patient-centered, occupation-based care. SUMMARY The Occupational Therapist (Inpatient) is responsible for the provision of Occupational Therapy services for an inpatient and/ or outpatient population from age 15 and older including, but not limited to, evaluations, evidence-based intervention, equipment recommendations and modality application under the referral of a physician or qualified non-physician provider.

Requirements

  • Must possess an Occupational Therapy Degree from an accredited program.
  • Must be registered/certified by National Board for Certification of OTs
  • Occupational Therapist IN state license required.
  • Must have current CPR certification in accordance with AHA standards or be able to obtain within 4 weeks of start date.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year experience with adult physical rehabilitation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administers OT evaluations to inpatients and/ or outpatients and determines appropriate treatment programs and/or equipment needs, integrating age specific needs and issues for physical medicine rehabilitation population.
  • Develops a patient-centered treatment plan based upon the evaluation, patient goals and age-related issues/needs to optimize treatment and function.
  • Responsible for assuring the treatment plan supports medical necessity and incorporates evidence-based treatments and outcome measures.
  • Responsible for ensuring the treatment plan is revised/updated appropriately per policy, communicated to appropriate team members including attendance at team conferences, and reviewed and signed off by referring physician (as appropriate).
  • Accurately completes documentation in compliance with department and regulatory timelines to ensure a complete medical record that supports skilled services and appropriate medical necessity.
